than future guilt.
But don’t be discouraged. Yes, over the
course of the eight days of Chanukah
you become fat, pimply and poor, but
let’s not forget the deeper meaning
behind Chanukah. Celebrating the nes
of Chanukah reminds us to thank Hashem
for all the nisim we are recipients of
on a daily basis. Chanukah gives us the
excuse to sit with our families without

the interruptions of daily life. Watching
the flames slowly burn out, as we sing
together, with the smell of latkes wafting
in the air. The laughter of small children
as they play draidel and open gifts fills
our homes. For eight days we take it in
without discarding it for more “important”
things. It is a time to realize that every
moment with your family is your own
personal miracle to be grateful for. And
if you’re really lucky, maybe you’ll get one
more miracle and that third donut that
you’re bringing to your lips, won’t end up
on your hips. Nah, you’re not that lucky.

fresh may seem like an obstacle but use that to
your advantage. The opposite of new and fresh is
not always a good thing.
Every customer is a potential advertisement.
Part of running a good business is treating every
customer as if they are the key to bringing in all
your future business, and conversely turning away
any future business. In a manner of speaking all
business transactions you perform are a marketing
technique. This is the art of referral and word of
mouth, which benefits you will only reap depending
on the quality of your business.
The most important aspect of marketing
is getting your name out there. Create name
recognition. Let your business be seen so that you
become a household name. When the customer
needs you, you should be at the forefront of their
mind. If they need to work too hard to find you, they
will go elsewhere. But don’t forget that marketing
will only bring the customers in, the second step is
keeping your customers happy.
