The Children's Room:
The children's room is not only a playroom, but mainly the place
where they sleep and relax therefore it is important to create a
pleasant and cozy environment with a maximum of two or three
shades. An organized room contributes to the child's ability to
concentrate, learn, and play more.
Every season, sort out every possible item and leave only the
unbroken toys. This act should definitely be done with the children.
Have the child partake in decisions concerning his room- location,
choosing furniture, paint color, etc.
At the bottom of the closet place a box or a small, decorative
storage container to keep the items that no longer suit him or his
age. This will teach the child how to part with toys that aren’t in use
or a small clothing garment.
Avoid overcrowding the room by placing large furniture pieces in
a small space.
Don’t place tall furniture pieces by the bedside.
Try combining as many storage spaces as possible such as drawers,
shelves, baskets, toy boxes and more.
Try creating a little quiet corner where he can lay back, read or
draw, so at a young age he will already be encouraged to read.
Provide each child one drawing box the size an adult boots box that
will contain all their drawings and projects. Have him sort it out once
in a while.
Provide your children the necessary tools so they can help keep
things in order and organize on their own.
Place the toys and books in a place where the children can reach
according to their age.
For young children who don’t read yet use clear storage boxes. This
will help them return each item to its place.
When siblings share a room, divide the space sensibly according to
each child's needs, particularly if one is in school. Create a study
corner for homework and reading with the right lighting.
Good Luck!!
