Splendid Sukkah
attached to the
schach. You will
need to make a hole
on either side of the
art work (you can use a hole
puncher) first put clear heavy tape
over the area you will be making
the hole. Make sure to tape both
sides of the paper. Then punch 2
holes and thread through a piece of
string. Make sure the string is long
enough for you
to hang it from
the schach. Try
to get it as close
to the wall as
possible and tie
it when the picture ure is at eye level.
Most of us like ke a pure white
tablecloth for Yom Tov, but on
Succos I love to add a lot of color
to the table. This can be done with
wonderful colorful table runners,
napkins and centerpieces. If you
don’t own those you can always
purchase about 1 yard of great
fabric and make your own. Decide
on the width you want for the table
runner and how long it should be.
Then cut the fabric leaving an extra
inch on each side for folding under.
Fold under the raw edges and hem
on your sewing machine or by hand.
Continuation from pg. 28
You can make napkins the same
way. If you don’t have a sewing
machine you can create great
napkins by cutting the fabric into
large squares and then pulling the
threads out to create a fringe edge
on two sides. This is a great project
for little ones, just let them know
when to stop pulling or you will end
up with just a pile of threads.
In conclusion I just want to add that
I lov love using
inte interesting
thing
things in
the
succah.
My
antique
copp
copper pot
is perfect to hold the soda bottles
in the corner and my cute rolling
outdoor table works as the little
kiddush table in the corner. I throw
a vintage tablecloth over it and it
does the trick. I also love putting
dried flowers, interesting gourds
and some live flowers together to
create wonderful arrangements
on the table. I stay away from very
fragrant flowers as not to attract
the bee population that seems to
sense that it is Succos.
Until next time, have a wonderful
Yom Tov.
